What U.S. soybean meal could mean for your operation

With swine mortality trending upwards and swine respiratory disease (SRD) complex costing up to $10.00/pig1, more swine production systems are recognizing the full value-added impact of soybean meal (SBM)—above and beyond its nutritional role as an essential amino acid and energy source.2

Because SBM contains healthful functional bioactive molecules, not present in alternative least-cost ingredients, producers have found that feeding higher levels, as a prescriptive solution at specific times of the year, can mitigate costly seasonal challenges such as SRD complex (winter and spring) and summer heat stress.
